Project Description

You’ll never forget the day the monstrous mist rose up and snatched away your little brother – while you watched helplessly from the bridge. But now, after twenty years, the mist has returned – and so has your determination to free him. But first you must confront the evil Countess, who keeps him painting creatures she has learned to burn into reality! Can you face your fears and help your brother finally escape the mysterious island where his dreams come to life - or will the whole world enter the mist? Enter a world where art and reality join hands, in this heart-stopping, hidden-object adventure!

Responsibilities:

General Game DesignNarrative Design

Joined the project in the middle of development, refined existing GDD and created supporting documents, as the project didn’t have many of them from the beginning.

Designed final chapter of the Main Game (1.5 hours of gameplay, last 5 locations with all content).

Designed Bonus Chapter (kind of DLC) gameplay from scratch (around 2 hours of gameplay, 10 locations with all content).

Designed and wrote down all quest chains, objects, puzzles, mini-games, locations descriptions, dialogues, narrative information, sound specifics, game atmosphere in the game Chapters listed above.

Designed 15 fullscreen locations with 4-5 interactive zoom-zones in each, created basic schematic wireframes for them.

Designed mechanics for 7 puzzle mini-games, created schemes for artists and flowcharts for developers.

Designed 5 hidden object fullscreen scenes with lists of interactions and items to be found.

Provided location maps with all possible player interactions and sequences for developers and testers for the Bonus Chapter.

Concepted the game features mechanics.

Designed the map for the game, concepted “map teleportation” feature, locations unlocks and hint marks on the map for the Bonus Chapter.

Made periodical gameplay test sessions.

Processed publisher’s feedbacks and also players’ surveys to improve the game on all stages of development.

Created tasks for artists, animators, programmers, composers, QA team, controlled all the production cycle, made play test of the game during all the development stages.

Text and narrative elements

Wrote the whole Bonus Chapter scenario, including the main plot, global objectives, side quests, characters, their nature, motivations and relation to the PC, dramatic moments and cinematic descriptions.

Wrote all in-game texts for Bonus Chapter including player character’s sentences (in response to any interaction), dialogues, item descriptions, puzzle games instructions, songs, player character’s notebook, quests, tasks and objectives.

Characters

Created the narrative concept for 2 NPCs with their background, behavior patterns, motivation and visual references.

Created tasks for concept artists, character artists and animators to bring the characters to life.

Created tasks for voice overs for outsource company, had chosen voice actors from provided candidates, made feedbacks on results.
